A Little Kindness Goes a Long Way
By Jane Harrison Fisher
Children have always held a special place in my heart, which I am sure is the same for many of you. Now that I’m a mother of two little ones, the reality of a healthy, happy child becomes even more powerful as we navigate all that life presents.
I have had the pleasure of witnessing the passion that is present in the Upstate by working with truly talented people over the past few years through an organization known as Clement’s Kindness. Clement’s Kindness is passionate about helping address medical, psychological, social, emotional and financial needs of Upstate families impacted by pediatric cancer and other serious blood disorders. This fund for children was founded by Knox and Priscilla Haynsworth, who lost their son and wanted to make an impact on children’s lives in his memory.
Through Clement’s Kindness, children and families can gain financial assistance at the most critical times, have connection to their loved ones through a support group, or seek the emotional support that is needed for children going through treatment.
It’s amazing to see our entire community come together to support children through various events. The countless efforts to better our community through by participating in high school spirit weeks, SYNNEX Share the Magic and other charity events, certainly makes a tremendous impact on children in our community.
No matter how you are involved in your community, there are always times to make a difference. A little kindness goes a really long way.
