(GREENVILLE, S.C.) – May 20, 2021
The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation is pleased to announce that sports legends Jay Haas and Roger Clemens will support the Upstate through Breakfast with Champions presented by The Greenville Drive leading up to the 2021 tournament, which will be held June 10-13 at Thornblade Club and The Cliffs Valley.

Haas currently plays on the PGA TOUR Champions, where he has celebrated 18 victories including two Charles Schwab Cup wins. This comes in addition to nine victories on the PGA TOUR. Haas and his wife, Jan, are long-time residents and supporters of Greenville. According to Haas, “The BMW Charity Pro-Am continues to make a significant impact in the Upstate community. This new event will allow the tournament to expand their reach to support even more children and people in need. I am thrilled to be part of it.”

Clemens played 24 seasons in Major League Baseball, including time with the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. He had 354 career wins, 4,672 career strikeouts and an impressive 3.12 career earned run average. Clemens is known for giving back to charitable causes and established the Roger Clemens Foundation in 1992 along with his wife, Debbie. “I am excited to be part of this inaugural event in Greenville and also look forward to playing in the BMW Charity Pro-Am this year,” said Clemens. “Greenville is a special place that I’ve visited many times, and I am humbled to play a small part in giving back to their community.”

Diana Watson, chief philanthropy officer for the YMCA of Greenville, will serve as the event emcee. Nationally-renowned sports radio and television personality Ann Liguori will moderate the Q&A portion with Haas and Clemens. Although the event is closed to the public, tables and sponsorships are available for purchase.

“The Greenville Drive are proud to support the inaugural Breakfast with Champions, an event that strongly aligns with the Drive’s community focus and commitment to giving back,” said Greenville Drive Owner & President, Craig Brown. “Every year, the Drive partners with our community’s most critical organizations, and there’s no better example of that than The Cancer Society of Greenville County and Meyer Center for Special Children. We’re proud to have worked with both organizations in the past and to continue supporting both through our partnership with the Breakfast of Champions event.”

The two local beneficiaries of Breakfast with Champions are the Cancer Society of Greenville County and Meyer Center for Special Children. Each year, the Cancer Society of Greenville County supports more than 4,000 people by creating hope and improving the lives of local cancer patients and their families. This comes in the form of financial support as well as high-impact education and counseling services.

The Meyer Center for Special Children is dedicated to enriching the lives of children with disabilities so that they can reach their full potential. This is achieved through a robust academic program, developmental education, and occupational, physical, speech and music therapy.
