Immersion in our clients’ business is critical to success. When Synnex, a global FORTUNE 300 IT distribution company, approached Hughes Agency in 2010 for communications strategy and execution, our business-to-business team rolled up their sleeves and dug in to strategically plan, execute and achieve measurable results across the organization within a short period of time.
Challenge
Streamline communication and messaging across multiple product lines and business units. Increase media and public relations activities. Build a community relations strategy. Tell the Synnex story in the trade press, nationally, regionally and locally. Build deeper ties in the local community through cause-related programs. Improve marketing and advertising ROI.
Solution
Hughes Agency crafted a strategic plan to unify communications. We built relationships with key stakeholders within the company to coordinate messaging and timing based on strategic business goals. We provided expert strategies for media planning and buying, and we leveraged our connections and experience to build awareness in the local community.
Results
Hughes Agency increased company news output five fold in the U.S. and Canada while building relationships with trade and national press covering Synnex. We created compelling news releases that generated hundreds of press clips resulting in millions of impressions. We identified target awards and trade shows, and executed and staffed these events. We placed executives at high-profile events and secured the company’s first ranking as one of South Carolina’s “Best Places to Work 2010.” We organized and launched the highly successful Synnex Share the Magic event which raised more than $550,000 for four children’s charities in the first year alone.
“The experience Hughes Agency brought to the table enabled us to
get our news out, build new relationships with press and demonstrate
our commitment to a community where we employ over 700 people.
They understand our industry, the competitive landscape,
our culture and our business goals. It’s a dedicated, impressive team.”
